John H. LaChance, Esquire is an experienced trial lawyer in Framingham, Massachusetts who restricts his practice to the representation of individuals who have either been accused of crimes or are under investigation for suspected criminal activity. Attorney LaChance is a criminal trial attorney serving clients throughout Massachusetts with a focus on Boston Metro West to include Framingham, Natick, Newton, Wellesley, and Sudbury Massachusetts.

He has been a criminal trial lawyer for over thirty (30) years and during that time has tried hundreds of criminal jury cases in both the Federal and State courts. Mr. LaChance is a former Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts (9178-1982). He has served as Director, Clerk, President-Elect and President of the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (M.A.C.D.L.). In 1991 he was presented by the Committee for Public Counsel Services (C.P.C.S.) With the Edward Duggan Award for "zealous advocacy and outstanding legal services to the poor". He is a contributing author to several criminal practice manuals published by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (M.C.L.E.) and participates as a faculty member at numerous M.C.L.E. and Massachusetts Bar Association (M.B.A.) Legal education seminars on criminal procedure and trial practice. Mr. LaChance currently serves on the C.P.C.S. Screening Committee that evaluates applicants who wish to receive appointments in the Superior Court for murder cases, and formerly served on the Criminal Justice Study Committee of the Superior Court.

Although most of Mr. LaChance's cases are not high profile, he is no stranger to notorious and high profile cases  and defendants. He is presently representing Joseph Druce, who is accused of the murder of the defrocked pedophile priest, John J. Geoghan. He represented the lead defendant in a major federal organized crime case in Worcester that resulted in a hung jury. And, he was selected by the trial judge in the John Salvi case (the abortion clinic murders) as amicus curiae counsel to present evidence at an evidentiary hearing of Salvi's mental incompetence to stand trial to the Court, Last year he obtained a not guilty verdict in a local media-intense murder case: Commonwealth v. Larkins.

Mr. LaChance handles a wide range of criminal cases from drunk driving and OUI   to vehicular homicide; from white collar and business crimes to murder; and from drug offenses to sexual assault crimes. Attorney LaChance is a criminal trial attorney serving clients throughout Massachusetts with a focus on Boston Metro West to include Framingham, Natick, Newton, Wellesley, and Sudbury Massachusetts.
